Well...we went to see the specialist on Tuesday. Apparently he and my regular doctor disagreed on what they thought was going on and what course of action to take. The specialist was supposed to do an amniocentesis, but did not. The specialist concluded that I just have gestational hypertension (high blood pressure). My regular doctor still thinks I am in the early stages of preeclampsia. And I’m not sure what to think.
My doctor sent me back home to rest and wait. We have another appointment tomorrow (Friday) afternoon. They are going to check her fluid levels again and my blood pressure and I guess we will go from there. I’m just worried cause my doctor saw reason for concern enough to send me to a specialist and to want to take the baby as soon as possible…and now with the specialists weigh in….he’s not sure. I don’t like not sure. He wants to just wait to see how I’m feeling. Which I fine with waiting…cause I want Madison to be as developed and healthy as possible…but I don’t want to wait till either one of us gets really sick. From what I’ve read, preeclampsia is pretty serious and can only be “avoided or treated” by birth of the baby.
At the specialists they did measure Madison to see her size and growth. They said she looked really good. They estimated her at about 6lbs. 4 ozs. And that put her at 67% on the growth chart! So that’s good! The lady tried to get a good 3D/4D picture of her…but imagine that she had her hands on her face and her face was surrounded by cord! So we really couldn’t see anything…like usual! :) That little stinker!
So hopefully tomorrow’s appointment will go well. My doctor is going out of town the following week so I’m wanting him to come up with a plan since he won’t be here. I’ll let everyone know how it goes.
