Merry Christmas!

We wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! Hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas Eve so far!

Baby Update: Madison is scheduled to arrive on New Year's Eve. We went to the doctor yesterday and he said he wanted to go ahead and induce next week because my fluid level had dropped a little bit. So he sent us to the office to schedule her arrival for Monday, December 29th. The lady up front called the hospital and they were booked!!! They were booked from Sunday - Tuesday! So we got the first available and took Wednesday, December 31 (I felt like I was making hotel reservations). There were only two Wednesday slots left and there were three other girls behind me trying to get in before the end of the year. Everyone wanted their little TAX deductions!! :) We are going to the hospital on Christmas Day and Saturday just to monitor Madison to make sure everything stays looking good until New Year's Eve! We go back to the doctor on Monday for our last pre-baby appointment and will go the hospital Tuesday, December 30th at 9:30pm to start the induction process. Hopefully it won't take too long! :) But we'll see! So hopefully she will arrive sometime on the 31st!

We will keep everyone posted! Hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday!! Looking forward to the next post having baby pictures....

And...Still Waiting...

We went to the doctor last Friday (the 19th)...which was my day of choice to have Madison since Jerrad and I both have birthday's on the 19th...but we're still waiting. The doctor was very busy on Friday...he was the only ob doctor at the office (they usually have 6). So he was in and out and said everything looked alright and moved us from 38 weeks (which would have been this week) to 39 weeks (the week of New Years). I'm still resting...but I am trying to at least get out of the house and walk a little each day. Saturday Jerrad and I went to the Boardwalk and walked around and had lunch and yesterday we went to Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart is always an experience this close to Christmas!!! Today I'm at the trophy shop answering the phones.

We go back to the doctor tomorrow (Tuesday) for another biophysical ultrasound and check-up. But I'm assuming we will be in and out again and he'll send us home till next week.

I'll try to keep you posted. If I do not get on here before...We hope everyone has a Very Merry Christmas!!!!!!

Still Waiting...

We went to the doctor on Friday. He still wants to wait and see...I think it was because he was leaving for vacation that day...but that's just me. I don't really like being put off when there are risks to my health and Madison's health and he seemed like we needed to make a quick decision...but I'm waiting and trying to be patient and not nervous! He did say for sure we would have a baby by 38 1/2 weeks (which is next week) but didn't give us an exact date with it being Christmas next week.

With our doctor being out of the office till Thursday we go back to see the nurse tomorrow to check my blood pressure and Madison's fluid level. Then we will go back to see the doctor on Friday. Hopefully we will know more then. I'm ready to ask him to go ahead a plan on Friday evening after work...about 5pm. That would really work well for everyone involved. :) That way we wouldn't end up in the hospital on Christmas. So we'll see!

But in the time being...I'm still resting. We stayed home all weekend and Jerrad worked on our Christmas lights. He did a great job and our house looks very festive.

Update

Well...we went to see the specialist on Tuesday. Apparently he and my regular doctor disagreed on what they thought was going on and what course of action to take. The specialist was supposed to do an amniocentesis, but did not. The specialist concluded that I just have gestational hypertension (high blood pressure). My regular doctor still thinks I am in the early stages of preeclampsia. And I’m not sure what to think.

My doctor sent me back home to rest and wait. We have another appointment tomorrow (Friday) afternoon. They are going to check her fluid levels again and my blood pressure and I guess we will go from there. I’m just worried cause my doctor saw reason for concern enough to send me to a specialist and to want to take the baby as soon as possible…and now with the specialists weigh in….he’s not sure. I don’t like not sure. He wants to just wait to see how I’m feeling. Which I fine with waiting…cause I want Madison to be as developed and healthy as possible…but I don’t want to wait till either one of us gets really sick. From what I’ve read, preeclampsia is pretty serious and can only be “avoided or treated” by birth of the baby.

At the specialists they did measure Madison to see her size and growth. They said she looked really good. They estimated her at about 6lbs. 4 ozs. And that put her at 67% on the growth chart! So that’s good! The lady tried to get a good 3D/4D picture of her…but imagine that she had her hands on her face and her face was surrounded by cord! So we really couldn’t see anything…like usual! :) That little stinker!

So hopefully tomorrow’s appointment will go well. My doctor is going out of town the following week so I’m wanting him to come up with a plan since he won’t be here. I’ll let everyone know how it goes.

Bedrest...

So...I've been on bedrest since Wednesday of this past week. I went to the doctor last Wednesday and my blood pressure was high (the bottom number was high). They did an ultrasound to check on Madison (just to make sure everything was okay) and she was moving around and her heart rate was just fine. They did notice that my fluid level was low. I'm not exactly sure what it is supposed to be...but the week before mine was at a 13 and it dropped to just above 8 (like 8.2). So he sent me home to rest and stay off my feet and come back on Friday. We went back in on Friday and my blood pressure had lowered. My bottom number had gone down and my top number had gone up. So he sent me to ultrasound to check my fluid again. Again Madison was fine...heartbeat and everything...but my fluid had gone down some to 7.76. Which isn't terrible but obviously it’s not great. So the doctor is sending me to an ultrasound specialist to see if Madison is well developed enough to be delivered. We're still 3 1/2 - 4 weeks early so he just wants to make sure she would be ready if we needed to go ahead and deliver because of fluid levels (they should not go below 5) or blood pressure. Or if I am in the early stages of preeclampsia…which I have some symptoms of.

Today I have an appointment with my regular doctor at 3:10 and then tomorrow I am going to see the specialist at 2. So hopefully by Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday we will have some answers and maybe know when Madison will be arriving! :) Very exciting.

So I will try to keep an update on here. I do not have internet at home so it's only when I am at the shop on the couch that I can get on-line.

Oh…bedrest is overrated! I thought it would be wonderful to sit at home and do nothing, but apparently in this stage of pregnancy you really want to clean and nest and I can’t stand looking around and seeing things cluttered! So Jerrad’s precious Grandmom came and cleaned our entire house on Saturday! She did a wonderful job and it made me feel so much better! (If I can only get Jerrad to keep it that way!!) So now I don’t have clutter to look at…I just look at my beautiful small feet! My swelling feet have gone down completely from being off of them! I just love to look at them and think how cute and small they are and wonder if they are really mine! I know its silly…but it’s the small things in life!!!

January 2, 2009

We had our 34 week doctor appointment today. The doctor said everything seemed to be right on schedule and to keep doing what I was doing. He told me to start walking if I wanted to try to get her here early. So we'll be walking every night! We go back next Wednesday and he will start checking me.

We also had an ultrasound to measure sweet Madison. She measured wonderfully...somewhere in the midrange…not too big and not too small. They said fluid levels and her heartbeat looked good! They estimate that she is 5lbs. 5oz. and her feet are still the large 3" they measured last time! This ultrasound lady said she had really long looking toes! The ultrasound lady was super nice and took some 3D images of her. We got several pictures...all (of course) with her hand in front of her face! Apparently that is her favorite position! The ultrasound lady tried pushing on my belly to get Madison to move her hand so we could see her whole face and that made Madison unhappy! In the pictures you can see her scrunch her face up and then open her mouth like she was trying to protest against the pushing. It was very funny! Seems she likes to have her things her way (kinda like her dad...wait did I say that...maybe a little like her mom too!) From the ultrasound they think she is a little ahead of schedule and due date is now January 2, 2009.

So we are doing good. Looking forward to Thanksgiving tomorrow with the families. Hope everyone has a wonderful day tomorrow and we'll keep you posted!

Madison's Baby Shower

Madison's baby shower was wonderful! She got so many happies and we almost have everything ready for her arrival! Thank you so much for everyone who attended. And thank you to all the hostesses! It was absolutely fabulous! Thanks to...Lisa Ambrose, Dianne Brannen, June Cantrell, Becca Crosby, Rebecca Evans, Darlene Feazel, Diana May, Kim McInnis, Jennifer McLemore, Tamara Sanders, Ashley Stuart, Amber Terrell, Tanya Tingle, Debbie Wilson.
And thank you thank you to Rebecca and her family for opening up their home!!!

We went to the doctor yesterday and he said everything looked good. We are scheduled to go back on Wednesday, November 26th. He said he would do an ultrasound then to check her size and see how she was doing. (I'm still really concerned about her 3" feet!!!)

3D \ 4D Ultrasound

The first one is a picture of her face...with her arm right in front. She never moved her arm! She was resting and that is just where she wanted it! She started out with just one arm in front of her face and ended up with both arm and both feet at her face!

The second one is a picture of her puckering her lips!

The third is a profile shot...arm still in the way.

And the last one is a picture of her foot. The ultrasound lady said "Wow...she has big feet!" And I said what?!?! So she measured her foot and it was 3 inches long!! Pretty big for a little girl who still has 8 1/2 weeks left to grow! :)

It was very fun getting to see her move around and see kind of what she looked like. It will be really neat to compare once she gets here!

We did ask her to just confirm it was a girl! Jerrad was worried with all the pink that it would be totally bad if she ended up being a boy. So...third confirmation...She is a girl!!

Nursery Update

Jerrad finally got the letters and dots spray painted (pink and brown) and my parents came over Sunday night and helped us hang her name! It was a little difficult to get her name hung but it turned out so cute! We also hung the curtains. As soon as I have her room cleaned up some I'll post a picture of the whole room. It's going to be so cute...if I do say so myself! :)

We're having our big shower this Saturday. I can't wait. It's going to be so much fun! The hostesses are doing so much and I can't thank them all enough! It's going to be great!!! :)

We go to the doctor next Wednesday. Just a normal appointment where I am sure we will be in and out before we even finish asking our questions. I'm now going to the doctor every two weeks. So I'll go again the week of Thanksgiving. I'll be 34 weeks then and he said we will do another ultrasound at that point to check on Madison's size! (I think she's getting pretty big!!)! So we'll keep you updated!

30 weeks and counting...

pregnancy

30 Week Baby Update: If you’ve been feeling butterflies moving around in your belly, it’s not just your run-of-the-mill pre-birth performance anxiety. No, it’s your amazing baby with a case of the hiccups: a fairly common occurrence at this point resulting from practicing breathing for their big birthday.

Madison has several rounds of hiccups a day. They are the weirdest things and you can actually feel them on the outside when she has them. I sneezed the other day and scared her hiccups away! :) Hope I didn't scare her too bad!

Thought this cartoon was funny. Something I could relate to...

Sicily Island Baby Shower

The Hostesess - Katy Edmonds (Jerrad's Sister), Sherry Edmonds (Jerrad's Mom), Angie Caylor (Cousin), Elva Golmon (Grandmom - Jerrad's Grandmother)

We had a wonderful weekend in Sicily Island, Louisiana. Jerrad's family hosted a baby shower for us there on Saturday. It was wonderful! Everything was beautiful and it was great to see Jerrad's side of the family and hang out with everyone. We got a lot of beautiful clothes and some really great gifts! I can not wait for Madison to get here...so we can start enjoying all the fun stuff!

Thank you so much to everyone who came!! You are all so sweet and we are all so lucky to have you in our lives!!

Madison 21 1/2 weeks

So...I'm a little behind and have been meaning to get this up here for a week. Here is an ultrasound picture from Sunday, August 31st. I had a weird pain on my right side that lasted 6 hours (all night long) and it would not go away so we got worried enough to take our first visit to the hospital. They checked me and Madison and everything was fine! (thank goodness)! Still not sure what the pain was but they gave me some meds that seemed to do the trick. But we did get this ultrasound picture out of the experience! (We were at Willis Knighton in Labor & Delivery A while Ashley was in Labor & Delivery 6 having Eli! We created a huge commotion on the floor sending people back and forth from room to room to check on Ashley and I!!)!!!

Anyways...I thought this was a good profile picture of her! I love it! We are 23 weeks today and have a doctors appointment tomorrow!

A Big Week

We started our week (last week) at the American Idol Concert...which was wonderful! When the loud music started so did Madison's kicking! Not sure she knew what to think about all the loud noise! Here are a couple of our favorite performances!!

(Thanks MamaD and Sweet Mr. Jimmy!! Cant wait to start watching again in January!)

Then we went to the LA Tech game Saturday Night. We played Mississippi State and were expected to get beat. We won! It was a great game and we really enjoyed going! (Thanks My Lord the King! :) )

Around 11:52am on Sunday we welcomed our new nephew Eli Anderson Stuart (our best friends Ashley & Tim Stuart's second son). He was 6 lbs. 1 oz. and was 18 1/2 inches long. He is precious and we can't wait for Maddie and him to play! Jerrad has already given Eli the "talk" regarding the rules for hanging out with his daughter! For now...they are just cousins...but there could be a marriage in the works! ;)

Madison's baby bedding has been picked out, ordered and should arrive today. The colors are pink and brown! I can't wait for UPS to show up so we can put everything in her room tonight!

Madison Presley Edmonds

Here are a couple of pictures like I promised. These are all from the doctors appointment yesterday. (19 weeks) We ended up with a lot of pictures because sweet Madison was being a bit stubborn and not wanting to move the right way to show us what she was. Jerrad said that she is already taking after her mother!! ;) We were in with the first ultrasound tech for about 30-40 minutes. She took a lot of measurements and then got down to what we were really there for...the gender! The baby was all curled up in a little ball with no plans of moving. The ultrasound tech poked and moved my stomach, made me get up and go use the bathroom and move a little bit and nothing seemed to get the baby moving. After all the time we spent in there she finally sent us to see the doctor and told us we could come back in a week to find out what the baby was! NO! So we asked her very nicely if we could try again after we saw the doctor and she agreed! So we saw the doctor and he said everything looked great and the baby was doing very well. He sent us back to the ultrasound area and this time we tried a new tech and a new room (for luck...I guess)! She tried for about 15 minutes with no luck. Baby was still curled into a little ball with the legs tucked under the body. I finally layed on my side and she pushed and moved enough where she could verify that is was a girl. (Both the ultrasound ladies thought it was a girl! And they were right.)

So we finally know we are having a baby girl...Madison Presley! (Maddie for short)

We go to the doctor again in 4 weeks. Due date is still January 7, 2009. Everyone is making bets on when they think she will arrive. We are going for December 28-30, so we can get the tax break! We'll see....

It's a Girl!

After a very long ultrasound experience (because of a stubborn baby)...we're having a girl! As soon as I get pictures scanned tomorrow I will get them posted! Just wanted to let everyone know!!

Oh...and they said she looks wonderful and everything measured up good!

Cruise!!!

Last week Jerrad and I (his entire family and 50 people from The Life Journey Church) went on a 5 day cruise to Mexico! Neither of us had ever been on a cruise before but we had a blast! Just wanted to share some pictures from our trip.

Our favorite part was the dessert! The Warm Chocolate Melting Cake with two sides of ice cream. And my favorite part was the cute towel animals the steward left for us each night in our cabin. They even had a towel making demonstration class that we went to. We loved it! Can't wait for our next cruise!

July Update

Today we had our monthly doctor appointment. We got there at 9:30 and sat in a packed out waiting room until 10:15 and were done by 10:30! So fun! The nurse said I was doing good and right on track! I've only gained a 1/2 pound this past month! (which probably makes up for the few extra I gained in the beginning). My blood pressure was good and so was the baby's heart beat. They scheduled my next appointment for August 14 with an ultrasound!! So be praying that Teco cooperates and we can tell if it is a boy or a girl next visit! Only THREE more weeks!!!! (I guess I can wait that long!)

The house is going well! We're still unboxing and probably will be for a while longer! But that's okay...at least we have things livable! We got our new washer and dryer and refrigerator yesterday!

We picked out our nursery furniture and absolutely love it! We have it ordered and should be delivered in 6 weeks or so. My mom and aunt took Jerrad and I shopping last Saturday to look at furniture and then they surprised us by telling us they wanted to take care of it for us. They are using some money from the mineral rights on my grandmother’s land to pay for it. Kind of makes it like my Mamaw had a hand in it. (And that is something she would have wanted!!) That makes it so special! I know she is looking down smiling and just as excited as we all are!!!!

Moving Day

Today is moving day! We've actually been moving stuff little by little all week but today's the official day. We close on selling our townhouse at 12pm and we sign on our new house at 2pm. We are very excited and ready to get moved into the new house. We have tons of help (thank you everyone!!) so everything should go smoothly with the move.

As soon as we get settled in I'll post some new pictures of the house.

Training Baby Teco

We have already started training Baby Teco to take over the family business. So far...it's working pretty well!

Look closely to Baby Teco's right hand. :) Teco and his\her first trophy!

Thank you Uncle Johnny for the super cute picture and many, many laughs! We have enjoyed looking at it!

Update

I promised an update after the doctor visit today. We had an appointment today at 9:30 and got to hear the baby's heartbeat. Very fun! I go back to the doctor on July 24.

We got a contract on our townhouse Sat. and are very excited! We found a house that we love and went to sign a contract on the new house this morning. So hopefully everything will continue to come together smoothly and we will be in a new house before August. Lots of stuff to do between now and then!!!

As soon as things are final and we get into the house I'll get up some pictures! And if you are in town...you will have to come for a visit and see Baby Teco's room! :)

And hopefully I can get some pictures up soon of all the wonderful Baby gifts we have received so far and my baby bump!

We're Having a Baby

Hello all! I wanted to start this page to keep everyone updated!

Jerrad and I found out we were pregnant on May 3, 2008. We kept it a secret until I could get in to see the doctor on June 3. That's a really long time to keep such a big secret! But we did it! I went to the doctor on the 3rd and they did an ultrasound and we found out I was 9 weeks! (A little bit farther along than we thought)! The doctor said everything looked good!

The ultrasound picture shows the babies head, body and arms. The baby’s arms moved the entire time of the ultrasound!! I think I'm having a baby Jerrad (and that makes me nervous!!!) :)

We told the families the 4th and the 5th and everyone is so excited!

I'm now in my 2nd Trimester and the month of June has been very busy for us and especially for Jerrad with my constant Buffalo Wild Wings and fruit cravings! And we are trying to sell our townhouse and find something a little bit bigger!

I go back to the doctor on Monday (June 30th) and will hopefully have some news to update then.

Oh...and until we find out if it’s a boy or a girl, we're calling the Baby Teco. (after that...it will have a real name!!) :)
